Very fragrant and smooth. I'm no wine expert, but this is one of my favorites in its price range. And the screw top is excellent.

My default red wine. A big red California flavor. This is no wimpy table red. This is full-flavored, butt-kicking, Bonny Doon wine. A steal for the usual $10 pricetag. And don't let the screw cap fool ya, this is great wine from an unconventional, irreverent winery.

There's something about the label design of this bottle that continually haunted me every time I went to my local wine shop. I finally bought and tried it tonight. I didn't notice the screw cap until it was too late. But as a previous reviewer mentioned: don't let that scare you. This is a big, bold wine, but not overpowering. Deep purple color, fruity and tart. Could've probably let it open up a bit more, but it's Friday and I was impatient. All in all, I was impress'd for the price and the non-cork cap. Should we launch "screw'd"?

I was hoping for more but was disappointed. Maybe a step up from a wine that you might get at the average wedding. Maybe. A muddle of vague fruitiness. Everything just fades into the background. I am still looking for an everyday sub $10 wine. I like the screw top and wish there were more wines sealed this way.
