Upon first taste - just after opening - I tasted a bit of smokeyness, which I really enjoyed. It was almost like a nice cigar (in a good way). After the wine sat a little while the smokeyness was gone, the flavor began to mellow, and the fruits began to show through. Didn't seem very acidic. It is not anything special really, but at the price point, I was quite happy. The flavor seemed pretty balanced and nice for a summer evening. There is some strawberry on the nose, but this flavor is less prevalent in the wine. The plum/blackberry seem stronger to me.
