2006 Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Shiraz
(10 months ago)Drank right after opening and initially really enjoyed the wine. However, the next day I had tried another glass and was really put off by it. My wife won't drink it. It's gone to the cupboard for cooking wine. I remember the aroma being muted. I got a little blackberry flavor in it. Pretty simple flavor really. Light tannins.

(3 months ago)Got this on sale, which made it an even better value. great weekday bottle. big fruit, kind of blueberry/blackberry/raspberry pie on the nose, explosion of fruit on the palate. yummy. I'll buy it again if i'm in the mood for something big and fruity. UPDATE: after a couple hours, I was getting a whole lot of caramel and chocolate. Lovely.

(about 1 month ago)Nose was full of fruit. Strawberries and sour cherries. Taste of heavy fruit. more cherries and strawberries. Also dark fruit. Not too heavy on the body. Medium tannins. Very nice! After decanting for close to two hours, the flavors became even more powerful and complex. I raised score accordingly.
