tasted 11/07 robe - dark ruby/ purple. a bit dense for a pinot. it also contains a slight cloudiness that is not very elegant. nose - quite open with major notes of cherry, rasberry, blackberries, some vanilla and a healthy amount of alcohol making a statement. palate - a real attack happens from the get go. sour type cherries, alcohol, some cranberry/ cherry coming through. the acidity is not very integrated and while the tannins are quite ripe but slightly chalky. all of the elements are built up but not very integrated and surly not very integrated. this is a young wine and i understand that it needs to develop, but, it was not showing a whole heck of a lot of promise. i would be interested to see how it unravels, or even for that matter ravels up, i am not sure if i would buy a bottle for the cellar either. burgundy lovers, pass. cali cab drinkers who think burgundy is like vase water, check it out.

Strong appealing plum flavor, but unbalanced. I'm left with a rather unfortunate vinegary taste in the mouth.

Very heavy, earthy, oak and plumb smell. Very much plum in the taste, but with a confusing finish with hints of vinegar or cider.
