Santa Duc is a great Southern Rhone vintner, but this wine is not of a specific appellation. Not much information on the label... the guy at the store said it was 100% Syrah. Robert Kacher import.

Woo hoo! Krissa says "good sour cherries, not cherry candy, plus, lichen and stone - right up our alley. Just smells damn good." I say great body, structure, balance. Picture a Chateauneuf minus the Grenache meat/blood flavor. I had Hermitage La Chapelle once, and this is kind of like that but better and more approachable. At this price, just buy it and see for yourself. (We drank it with Krissa's household-renowned split pea & bacon soup with parmesean pepper croutons. Great combination.)
