We were disappointed. First time we had Clos Du Val Cab was a 2003 at a bar called Divine Wine in Indianapolis. Fell in love with the deep, smooth raspberry and licorice flavors. We bought a 2004...not so great. A bit off balance..but can't really put our finger on why. Eric thinks it has a powder smell.

has a berry nose; very very dark color - black with purple tones throughout; black olive, oak taste with a long finish. A little too acidic at first but with subsequent sips tannins kick in to balance it out.

Medium bodied with Cherry and Spice on the nose. Blackberry taste with a moderately dry, long finish

Cola, pepper and licorice in the mouth. Oak not as overwhelming as most New World Cab Sauvs, but still had a lot of the usual flavors. Not a Cab Sauv fan myself, so I doubt I'd buy this again.
