Sarzedinho, Portugal; 92 Points - Mark Squires - The Wine Advocate "The 2004 Tinto (Quinta Vale D. Maria) is delectable, with gorgeous fruit. It has structure, too, and with air its penetration and grip become obvious. It may not be quite as bold as its 2003 counterpart, but its balance is better. Make no mistake, however - the reason for this wine's existence is to be seductive and sexy. The fruit opens nicely, a tasty cross between plums and strawberries. Although the 2003 shows better at the moment, this has a chance to equal and surpass with a couple of years in the cellar. Drink 2008-2016." ; 93+ Gary Vaynerchuk: "COLOR-really dark; NOSE-Profound nose, very bright strawberry rhubarb pie, nice dark chocolate, dairy aspect, viscous, little Oak; TASTE-cherry bomb sweetness, Cream Puff aspect, fresh strawberry syrup, very fruity, dark, complex & rich, this is bringing the thunder, great tannin structure, great complexity, really rich & smooth, showing the polish of a $50-$75 Bordeaux of CA Cab; "one of the more refined & polished fruit bomb, Old World style we've ever had on WLTV....Spectacular"

(about 1 year ago)I really, really liked this wine and would highly recommend it! This is a serious wine! COLOR: Dark, beautifully dark; NOSE: Incredible nose, strong fruity character, strawberry, some dark chocolate with some other dark fruits; TASTE: Some sweetness, explosion of fruits, rich, viscous, complex but very balanced, very nice finish

(about 1 year ago)Old world BOMB! but with enough fruit to satisfy new world fans. On the nose: some chocolate, the smell of like an old scotch (but not "heat" of alcohol, just flavor), black licorice. On the palate: the tannins are very subtle, an overall GREAT balance; subtle tried tar, dark chocolate, slight cherries, and nice earthy characteristics. Good wine. + or - evals... Distinct varietal character: ?, Integration: +, Expressiveness: +, Complexity: +, Connectedness: +
