Liberalia Cero 2004
(about 1 year ago) buddy icon karlslaczko 89.0/100
Colour, deep, inky purple. Intriguing nose, musty and slightly burnt caramel, definitely oaked with added monster. Well rounded in the mouth, smooth with strong cherry in the beginning. Strong tannins at the front of the mouth, coating the palate with a parched dryness and with a warming heat at the back of the throat. Medium length, vanilla and oak on the finish. This is lighter than the colour suggests and the initial & extreme dryness left in front of the teeth was threatening to spoil what would otherwise have been be a very good red. However after 4+ hours in the decanter the tannins tamed a bit and made for a much more balanced wine. Initially 87, bumped to 89
