Nice dark purple color. Blackberry, dark cherry, spicy peppery nose. Smooth subtle berry and cherry, spicy taste. Nice long finish and very smooth.

If one could pour the nuances of the season of fall into a wine glass, this wine would be it. Excellent choice for any occasion. Sophisticated and satiating; there is this controlled lustiness to this wine. When this wine rolls through my cheeks and over my tongue, there is the slightest hint of smoke in my nostrils which lasts only for a fleeting moment. Mulberry, white sage and mmmmmm... a hint of gaminess to the finish, like a forest mushroom roasted over an open grill. Really. Give her a whirl.

One word: potent. This young wine definitely is better after it has had the chance to breath. Still, it reminds you that is from Africa, and has strength. Almost magical purplish hue, and aromas that entice. Does not go well without a good hearty meat.

I was expecting something heavy and spicy when I first grabbed this bottle from the shelf. Instead, I was surprised to encounter berries on the front with a smooth, smooth finish.

If it is possible to call a wine "smokey" this is it. A slightly fruity bouquet, more floral. There is a taste of smoked mozzarella almost, but not unpleasant like it might sound. It doesn't have the spiciness I'd expect, but there is some earthy quality here, which I suspect is the pinotage (of which I'm unfamiliar). I liked it. For 6.99, I can't complain.
