2001 McRae Wood Shiraz
(over 2 years ago)Wonderful... light and eloquent, with a finishing boldness that's surprising. The best value for any wine I've come across. I tried this at Mix Restaurant in Las Vegas, and has remained one of my favourite wines to this day. The absolute best shiraz I've had in my life.

(about 1 year ago)I had this wine at The Fat Duck Restaurant in Bray Berkshire, UK. It was recommended as a big, vibrant red that was easy on the pocket (I still paid 59 pounds though). It is luscious, smooth, and heavy. The tannins are wonderfully soft, and it showed more old-world Syrah earthiness than most Australian Shiraz(es). The blackberry is heavy and concentrated, both on the nose and palate.
