95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 2% Petite Verdot; from klwines.com: "The addition of a small amount of Merlot and Petite Verdot to the 2002 Amici Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon adds richness to the mouth feel and increases the aromatics of the wine. The color is opaque and the wine has very soft tannins, which allow the currant-blackberry flavors to take center stage on the palate. The conservative use of new French oak adds just the right amount of vanilla and spices, helping to enhance the aromatics of the wine."

2002 Amici Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)Tasted blind - This was a very good wine! Clear oak on the nose as well as heat in the form perfume and clear alcohol as well as blackberry. On the palate, the tannins were ripe, the finish was long, still a tad hot. Great character but could have been more balanced. + or - evals... (about 1 year ago)Again missing my notes (sorry Nico). Nose: oak, oak, oak. Taste: this wine was a little rough on the palate and I think cellaring it for a few years would do wonders for this wine. Great finish with lots of tannins to complete the taste. Nice balance of fruits throughout the taste, but the alcohol was somewhat disturbing of the flavors. Cellar!

(about 1 year ago)Definitely a strong, oaky cab with some nice rich blackberry coming out. However, as others have noted, it is a little harsh and would probably benefit from a few years in a cellar.
