Estancia 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
(about 1 year ago)1st tasting: OK, this is REALLY tasty. Cherry, light oak, hints of spice and yes, some european style minerality. Yum!!! 2nd tasting 3 weeks later: I think I overrated this wine. Not as much cherry, red currant instead. The minerality is still there though. I think this wine is pretty one dimentional, but it could improve with a year or three because the tannins have a pretty firm grip on the finish. My first rating was four stars, I'm lowering it to three on a second tasting.

(about 1 year ago)On first taste, I thought it was a little too straight forward. There were some big cherry tastes and not much else. After giving this wine a little time to breathe, I started to taste hints of oak and a bit more depth. For a cab, it just didn't have enough punch. The mouth just wasn't terribly deep, and just has a little too much Cherry in the taste for me.
