from winelibrary.com: "We aren't going to score this wine because this wine was made for me by me. (kinda) I did the blending and picking the vineyards and the concept behind the wine. This is one of the great experiences I have ever had putting together this great wine for our customers. I had 1 agenda make a $50 California Cabernet that wasn't too oaky and brought a lot of the great aspects of Bordeaux to the table." In my humble opinion this wine would rate in the 91-92 range."-Gary Vaynerchuk "Today's wine drinkers understand that it takes more than just a varietal being planted to make great wines. The specific clone of the varietal has become key to the final flavor profile, expressing true varietal flavors. The correct clone, the correct vineyard site, proper vineyard practices, and hands on winemaking result in this "Clone 5" Cabernet Sauvignon. 5 clones of Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended to showcase the appellation and what it produces if the vineyard is done right! Enjoy." -Winery

Heaviest bottle ever. Dark purple-red and med to heavy body. Definite New World candied nose: with air and warmth Cabernet notes of currant and green peppers make a shy appearance as does the oak tree. On the palate, black currant and meaty tannins with a definite suggestion of oak. Not a strong cabernet sauvignon character. Med finish of slightly sour berries. med tannins. A decent steak wine, but not a complex or challenging Cabernet.

This wine was a beast right off the back and needs perhaps a year or two to really hit the spot. That being said I still loved every last drop of this. A lot of classic fruit bomb flavors combined with great structure. 3 days later is when this wine shined. Smooth as silk with the fruit toned down and old world flavors coming through more than before. Cheers to Gary V

Typical California style. Tannic, smoky, you can taste that Napa Valley soil and sun. Not as complex as I would have liked.
