Chalk Hill Chardonnay
(about 1 year ago)My wife and i "treat" ourselves to a bottle of Chalk Hill Chard each year for thanksgiving. Normally we're rewarded with a rich buttery chard that fills the mouth with pear, butterscotch, green apple, a hint of mineral, all swimming together in rich cream. Well, maybe 2002 was a bad year for old Fred & Peggy... suffice to say it disappointed. While it still had the hallmark fruit (with that hint of mineral), the malolactic richness was all but absent. Maybe 2003...
Chalk Hill Chardonnay
(about 1 year ago)Hands down the best chardonnay I've ever had. A lot of chards can be really overpowering, but this one is incredibly smooth - the flavors are very subtle.
Chalk Hill Chardonnay
(about 1 year ago)This is my favorite chardonnay. It has an elegance and complexity that I prefer to the big buttery style of many CA chards.
