This wine was made from 100% Tempranillo, a grape that has been also cultivated in the land of Zamora in the heart of Castile where the variety has grown in isolation for centuries. We carefully selected vineyards of mostly ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines located on the northern banks of the Duero River with the intention of capturing the spirit of this ancient variety which was famous in Spain during the Middle Ages. The deep rich garnet color of this wine prepares you for the abundance of aromas of warm strawberries and sweet spices. The initial flavors on the palate resonate with concentrated fruit flavors such as plums and blackberries and unfold to reveal hints of licorice, cinnamon, cloves, and leather.
