Quite nice, especially once it had a chance to breathe a bit. Deep purple-ruby color. Notes of fruit and berry jam (blackberry?) and slightly woody, but not as much spice as you might expect from a zinfandel, and certainly not as tannic as some of the recent zins I've been consuming. Leaner, tighter, not as 'big' as some of Ridge's other zinfandels. Definitely not as alcoholic, clocking in at 13.5% (thank god, I'm tired of seeing 16+ on labels). Would pair well with lots of types of food.
