This wine was a bit tight when opened, but quickly opened up wonderfully when decanted. Dark ruby in color, the nose was big with blackberry/dark cherry fruit as well as an earthy/woodsy/leathery undercurrent. On the palate, the fruit and earth elements kept shining through, thanks to its low acid and relatively soft tannin structure. Full bodied yet supple and elegant with amazing balance for such a young Bordeaux, it's drinking fine now and should continue to do so for several years to come. It's already throwing a decent amount of sediment, so decant carefully. Amazing for a $35 Grand Cru.

Medium bodied and very tight, though given insufficient time to open up. Subtle fruit and earth, very low acid, with a long earthy finish. Lots of tannins, but mostly soft and well-integrated. Still quite young, though will mature nicely the next couple of years. A very nice example of old world bordeaux with muted subtle flavors. Not sure where the other reviewer acquired a bottle for $35 -- would like to shop where he shops (unless it was a half-bottle; still a good deal).
