1947 Latour a Pomerol
(about 1 year ago)I don't think I have ever tried a wine that altered my vision of wine this much before. A wine that is older than my father, yet drinks like a young teen. Absolutely the most astounding wine I have ever had. Period! This wine tasted of fresh bing cherries dipped in the finest dark chocolate, then lightly dusted with a fragrant cocoa. All the while an incense of vanilla and oak are wafting in through the window. A sip of this godly nectar led to a fantastic tannin with a Sensual acidity that led you to ecstacy. Filled with fruit, earth, and all the passion in the world. An amazing wine that I will never forget. The holy grail of my tongue. It was so good I almost wish I never had it so it won't haunt my wine lusting dreams. Amen! (Score updated on 1/24/2007 originally posted on the 5 star rating)

(3 days ago)I'm with winewriter. Never had it, but had to counteract the 50 score to be fair. It also, in my opinion, draws attention to a problem with traditional rating systems. How many wines are from 90 and above? How many do you see below 75-80? This wine deserves 110 based on that. If we score on a hundred point scale, why not use it all?

(1 day ago)When visiting friends I haven't seen for years, this was the right bottle for the occasion I believe. I couldnt believe it was aged that long, it tasted as a younger wine..just WOW!! whoever leaves a rating of ''50'' is crazy in my book!! Great Wine! Very enjoyable tasting experiance with good friends.
