Call me a snob, but I gotta tell ya, I was a bit put back by the screw-top... But that's just me... Anyway, it's a decent chard, with got a pretty long finish, and some nice flavors of pears, apricots, melons. There was also something else I couldn't quite pinpoint... maybe almonds(?)... or maybe it's just something else with the oak(?), I just couldn't quite pick it up. My main gripe is that for $24, i think you can do a bit better. I picked it up on sale at Safeway for $14, but i don't know that I'd be willing to pay too much more than that.

I love any of the Carneros and Russian River region Chards (Cuvaison and Rutherford to name some more). Oaky, buttery and that, I don't know what, that makes that region's Chardonnay's so darn good. Clos Pegase overpriced, perhaps, but a fun experience nonetheless. The label and winery are too high brau for me, but it was fun.

Pineapple on the nose. Good finish with buttery melon. Oaky, but balanced. A bit acidic for my taste, but mellowed out nicely over 20 minutes or so.
