This deep, blood-red glass stainer was shy at first with a closed nose, but it eventually opened to reveal scents of cherries, chocolate, rosemary and violets. Rich and intriguing flavors ranged from rhubarb and leather to mouth-filling black cherries and cloves. Medium- to full-bodied with a pleasantly bold mouth-feel. A modern powerhouse whose youthful expression of Sangiovese is both energetic and fruit-intense, it's hard to resist with pasta, pizza or grilled meats.
