Talus Collection 2005 Pinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)Talus Collection 2005 Pinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)Oh Lord where do I begin? I smelled it and immediately I smelled rubbing alcohol. Not the regular stuff, but the menthol kind that is only 70% isoropyl alcohol. You can taste the alcohol before it even enters your mouth. It literally stings your nose. It's tart and tastes like vodka mixed in with smashed grapes. The finish tastes like those gummy fruit snacks (no, not gummy bears) I used to eat as a kid. I never thought I would say this, but I am considering dumping out the rest of this. EDIT: IT BURNS!!!

(about 1 year ago)I keep on trying to find something I like about this wine and every once in a while I think I get a hint of something, but I'm let down every time. This wine is way off balance. The nose has some candy and raspberry flavors then all alcohol. It almost smells like sniffing a liquor. The flavor profile is all over the place. There are some fruits (sometimes) on the attack with a smooth mid palate, but the whole thing is ruined by a sour finish and strange after taste. I would definitely pass on this wine. -- The more I drink the lower I want to sore it, that's a strange sensation since usually you care less about what you're tasting the more you drink it...

(about 1 year ago)Tasted extremely watered down with no body. Not too horrible for a $7 bottle of wine, wouldnt buy it again.

(about 1 year ago)The nose was okay, had some nice fuit, but was overpowered by alcohol. The taste was offbalance and kind of bland. Still got a decent buzz though.

(about 1 year ago)I didn't hate it as much as every one else. From the smell of gasoline I thought it would be extremely over oaked, but it was less so. In fact, as I drank it, the oak taste seemed to diminish. The fruit is there, which I like, but its too much oak and heat for my taste. For the price, you can do better. My wife hated it.
Talus Collection 2005 Pinot Noir
(about 1 year ago)Not great but better than expected. Actually improved after breathing and paired well with some mild cheese. About what I would expect from this producer at this price.
Talus Collection 2005 Pinot Noir
(9 months ago)nothing special...i didn't think it was as awful, but I didn't expect much for a $7 bottle. easy to drink despite the strong odor.
Talus Collection 2005 Pinot Noir
(5 months ago)My lawn mower ran ok on it, I could not drink it though.
Talus Collection 2005 Pinot Noir
(about 1 month ago)Very alcoholic nose, absolutely flavorless on the front end, fruity aftertaste...heavily oaked. Watery body. Overall, a boring wine. So bad it inspired my first review.
