Fruity, well balanced, and smooth wine. Straight-forward finish with minor complexities.

Palladio Chianti
(over 2 years ago)It's hard to read wine reviews for very long before you encounter the word "approachable." I always wondered exactly what that meant. I pictured a "non-approachable" wine snarling or roaring and an "approachable" wine tipping its hat and smiling. If that's what "approachable" is, that's what this wine is. It's a light-bodied, smooth wine but is a bit watery for my taste. It has a light flavor, which didn't really stand up to the beef stew with which I paired it. Don't get me wrong--it's not a bad wine. It's just that it's a "one night stand" rather than a wine you would want to go out with again--fun but forgetable. For the price (under ten bucks) you can't go wrong. It's a nice introduction to Chianti for those who have never experienced anything better.
