Hogue 2003 Syrah
(over 2 years ago)Hogue 2003 Syrah
(over 2 years ago)13th wine tried in HADM 430 at Cornell. This wine has a totally opaque red color. The aroma features pepper, spices, smoke, hickory, wood, truffles, and blackberries... it's like an aroma you would want in your house. The taste is very spicy, with black plums and berries. It's also very warm and dry and perfect for meat. This is a very fun wine that has softened with age and is ready for drinking.

(about 1 year ago)This wine was all around disappointing. Not bad, just disappointing. On the nose, smells like red licorice. A lot. Can taste some strawberry, plum and lots of spice, but nothing extraordinary.
