Hugues Beaulieu 2005 Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet
(over 2 years ago)Pale, almost greenish tint in color. Very dry, crisp wine -- steely, really. Aromas and flavors of citrus, lime and grapefruit. Has a nice balanced acidity -- would stand up well to seafood dishes, especially shrimp cocktail. And it's only about $9!!

(about 1 year ago)At the price point, under 10$, this wine is decent. Nose is citrusy, Meyer lemons, a little pine aspect too, some minerality coming through as well. Tart on the palate, strong acidity, crisp however. Some grapefruit and lime flavor, hint of oak, not very well structured, a bit thin on the mouthfeel and finish. Okay wine to serve with very light shellfish or chicken dishes. Much better chilled, hides a bit of the bitter acidity on the finish. I tasted at room and chilled temps.
