Tasted Sept 2006. Good solid California Red, priced appropriately. Nice red/black fruit on the nose, light tannins, juicy fruit flavors and balanced acidity. Medium body. Slight bitter after taste, but very faint. Current release is 2004 and blend is a little different, retail is $14. Picked this bottle up at World Market. Good party wine, or dinner with friends. Great looking label.

I couldn't believe a nearby natural grocer had this on sale for $4.99! A steal, to be sure. This one needed some breathing time, as it's big and tannic. Rich, earthy plum & berry in the nose. A little cherry, anise & some pepper, too. Nicely blended taste, more cherry in it than in the nose. The tannins seem to kick in a little later, surprisingly; usually they hit first for me. The pepper kind of "surrounds" the other flavors. Good stuff, worth 3 times what I paid.
