Q: What has been the most challenging job you have done?

A: We have removed several large trees, but the largest tree we removed was a 80 foot Cottonwood with a 4 foot wide trunk. We had to maneuver around power lines and the tree was between structures so we had to be smart about taking it down. Cutting the branches off and cutting it down turned out to be the easiest part, chopping the downed tree and removing it from the property was the hard part. It took 5 days to finish the job. We have also had some storm cleanups that were challenging because we had no room for error but we have yet to take a job we were not able to complete. We are up for the challenge.

Q: Why did you decide to start Steve’s Lawn Care?

A: I started the company to be my own boss and take care of customers to my standards. I place a very high standard on our customer service, communication and I am a perfectionist so I am now able to ensure all of our customers are completely satisfied when we are finished with our work. We started with lawn care and maintenance and we have evolved with experience to take on tree service.

Q: How would you differentiate Steve’s Lawn Care from the competition?

A: We are family run, mostly by myself and my son. We are professional and courteous and strive for excellence. We take pride in our work and treat our customers like family. We always clean up after our work and leave your property cleaner than when we arrived. We put an emphasis on helping others rather than turning a profit. We also offer all lawn care/maintenance and yard work so we can handle all of your needs.

Q: Do you have a slogan for the company?

A: I have a saying that we live by, and I have always abided by: Christian values make for good business.

Q: Are you involved in the community?

A: We are very involved with the church. I am a Deacon in our church, the Crowell 7th Day Adventist Church. I am also active with bible studies and helping with the church. Our most recent venture was helping build homes for those in need.

Q: What is your proudest achievement since starting Steve’s Lawn Care?

A: God has blessed us with the ability and skills to do this job. We are so blessed to work with our customers and have the foundation we have grown upon. Most of our customers become customers for life and often refer their loved ones over and we take any referrals over as the best kind of compliment.
